John West brings solid leadership and experience with expertise that extends to accounting, taxation and consulting for closely-held businesses. His industry experience includes construction, manufacturing, professional services, and tax planning and compliance work for high-net-worth individuals.
John currently serves as a partner in the firm’s tax department and provides consulting on construction accounting and tax engagements. John also has significant experience in planning for special situations, such as mergers and acquisitions, buy-outs, liquidations and other business transactions.
A graduate of Birmingham Southern College, John earned his BA in Business Administration in 1979 and his MA in Accounting from the University of Alabama in 1980. He began his accounting career with Harry M. Donaldson, CPA and in 1990 became a founding principal of one of our predecessor firms, Donaldson, Holman & West, P.C.
