Firm Orientation
The first step in your professional growth with us is our firm’s orientation program. We talk through our history, mission and core values. We introduce you to the firm’s resources available to you. And we help you gain a better understanding of our firm’s commitment to superior client service in the markets we serve.
Tax Training
During the first few years, our firm's formal technical tax training is primarily handled through the McGladrey Alliance training programs. These one-week sessions provide a broad-based study of various tax topics. Over time, in order to best assist our clients with sophisticated planning, you begin to concentrate your practice in a particular area. For example, one person may choose to focus on tax issues unique to the Construction Industry, while another may focus on S corporations and another, on estate and gift taxes. Training is concentrated in the same area, through a variety of planning-based national, regional and local seminars. The McGladrey Alliance offers a variety of training programs and webinars that target each specific concentration.
Audit Training
During the first few years, the firm's formal audit training is primarily handled through the McGladrey Alliance training programs. Additionally, our audit staff works closely with partners and managers to obtain the hands-on training that is so vital to your success. As each staff member progresses, courses are selected to provide technical expertise in specialized areas that continuously challenge each staff member to be more effective and efficient.
Leadership Development
Leadership skills are fundamental to growth in the firm and your active participation in the communities we serve. We offer formal leadership training, Leadership Academy, presented by The Rainmaker Academy and McGladrey Alliance.
Leadership Academy is a progressive program to help accounting professionals in acquiring the knowledge and skills of a successful leader, featuring a step-by-step approach to learning. Presented over an 18-month period, the program includes four 1½ day classroom sessions, three interactive web conferences between live sessions, assigned readings and movies, leadership projects and two coaching sessions.
We augment this formal training with internal roundtable discussion groups around new firm initiatives and the one-on-one experience you gain from working directly with the partners day in and day out.
